With the continuation of the series, I seriously doubt it will be cancelled, as for the points I mentioned last week, just to let you know that it isnt Yuewen Animation that withdrew from producing the series, their name is still on the beginning credits, it is actually Wanda Animation, which is another large company that invests in TV dramas and animation productions, there are lot's of rumours regarding why they will do such a thing - That they disagreed with the way the story is being adapted, they held the copyright to Medusa's design and the censorship that caused the studio to remove most of Medusa scenes caused it, we dont really know. There is no official announcement, perhaps later we might. There will be season 6 as confirmed, but whether it will continue straight after this season ends or the studio will take a break is unknown.

Anyway back to the story, Xiao Li's breakthrough into Dou Wang came with a large risk, that he has only a few years to live, in that time Xiao Yan endeavours to find a cure for him, since there is the Life Devouring Pill (which Xiao Li took) there is also the Life Returning Pill, however it wasnt required, as Xiao Xiao Yan manages to find the Deep Green Longevity Pill which extends Xiao Li's life by ten years and it wasnt too long that Xiao Li manages to breakthrough into Dou Huang, which negates the effects of the Life Devouring Pill

Wait, so since the have Medusa copyrights, will she be appearing less and less or even cut out all together?!

if they remove Medusa out of this show i can see there will be riots on a lot bigger scale than the censorship fiasco she is one of the most beloved characters i really hope its just a rumor other wise buying her copyright would probably be more important to this show going forward than giving us a fast fallow up season to this one we'll see i guess

Novelwise she is supposed to have a younger appearance after she merges with the python, but it doesnt seem like they are going down this route as you can see when they came back Medusa still had her same appearance.

Regarding story changes, again not sure what is true or not, there are a lot of angry fans out there as well as upset studio staff

That studio that did Medusa is top tier... She's not one but IS the most beautiful design i've seen. I hope they fix their legal business thou because that design for her is needed. Would be such a shame if they have to change it. Btw, from what i'm seeing, it seems as if they have already finish animating this season...

yup she definitely is a woman that can tolerates love interests that can stand on sequel footing to her but not really challenging her too often to piss her off ^_^ i think my man Yan balances that fine edge very well so far

I hope this series don't get potentially cancelled or called off/posphoned after the Yun Lan Sect Revenge Arc due to the recent hate it has been getting for censoring the XY and Medusa scene.

if you didnt notice they ereased scene where Xiao Yan and Medusa made a child, thats why she was hunting him, and there are rumors about studio changing story and replacing Medusa as one of 2 main heroines with Yun Yun. Fans found out this (IDK if its true) and show dropped scores from (not sure about numbers, this is just comparison) 80% to 40% and keeps decreasing. Also author of story said that if they change story he will strike back.... if you try to look it up on internet you will find out more i think :)

At first, it looked like she wanted to kill XY back at the arena. Is this the Medusa Effect? Whoever they are intimate with, they will eternally be faithful to that individual.

Pretty sure those 2 now share a connection due to the "evil" mist and cause medusa have never encounter being in love before that's why she wants to kill xiao yan even before he makes the pills for her.(Just my opinion, not facts.)

Actually it is due to the merging with the python that is causing Medusa to have feelings for Xiao Yan (residual feelings from the python)

That may be part of it but, before now she has displayed an attraction toward XY—some times even almost seductive behaviour towards him.
I feel sorry for her though. XY might be attracted to her looks but, there is no romantic feeling attached to it, at least not yet. Her behaviour might even be considered "attention seeking".

I think she loves XY. She also think he is inferior to her. I think that last episode, she tested his strength before she left. He withstood it and reminded him his life is her. I took that as her way of telling him don’t die.
